Class Descriptions

Level I ages 4-6
(Intro to Ballet)

Your child’s journey begins here! This fun, energetic, and age appropriate class is designed to introduce your child to ballet with entertaining music, bite-sized pieces of technique, and an engaging approach specifically tailored to your child’s age group. Students will be taught how to become acquainted with rhythm and teamwork, all while exploring creative movement throughout the class. Perfect for ages 4 to 6!

Level 2 Ballet Technique + Pilates
(Foundational) ages 7 and up

Providing all the foundational training necessary, this transformative class starts students off on the right foot, giving them all the essentials needed for true and noticeable progress. Aside from learning to understand ballet vocabulary, technique and application throughout guided barre and center work, students will also discover how to awaken and activate their core strength through regular, expertly guided Pilates Mat Work at the start of each class. This class is the perfect platform for ballet beginners, or even former dancers looking to return to ballet, ages 7 and up!

Ballet Technique + Pilates
(Intermediate/Advanced)
Levels 3,4,5, Advanced

This unique class offers ballet students an experience of a lifetime! With tactfully applied, Balanchine style training and unparalleled, professional-tier guidance designed to continuously challenge even the most advanced dancers, students will learn the commitment, self discipline and persistence required to expertly refine their technique, all while building musicality, athleticism and artistry.

This “one room school house” delivers lessons in advanced Pilates, followed by barre and center—a routine heavily rooted in Balanchine’s original methods. Younger students grow and flourish under the wings of the more advanced dancers who, in turn, learn the importance and skill of mentorship, setting them up for successful careers in both dance and life. As each student’s skill and dedication improve, so does their self-esteem, confidence, and character.

Pointe & Pre-Pointe

Dancers are transitioned to pointe upon individual assessment wherein proper technique and development are both carefully evaluated and established, first and foremost, to avoid injury or long-term adverse outcomes. At Cuizon’s, the health and safety of our students is of paramount concern and is protected at all costs. Each student’s transition and bespoke plan will always be discussed with the parent(s), or guardian(s), before activated. Students not yet on pointe, but focused on transitioning, are welcome to participate in pointe class with pre pointe work available. *For more information, please call today to set up a consultation!

Contemporary

Ashleigh’s class draws inspiration from her time dancing with Carolyn Dorfman Dance and teaches dancers the importance of intention, specificity, and musicality. A center-driven class with a strong focus on how and where the pelvis is in space, we explore creative, full body, and feel-good movement supported by the breath and use of opposition.

Floor Barre

Inspired by one of Ballet’s best kept secrets, our Floor Barre class unlocks dramatic new potential for any dancer, regardless of age or experience. A modern interpretation of Zena Rommett’s teachings, Lisa’s Floor Barre helps dancers discover, strengthen, and lengthen supportive muscles often ignored, allowing for improved turn-out, extensions, joint mobility, and most importantly, injury prevention. A secret weapon for any dancer looking to improve rapidly, Floor Barre is strongly recommended for all students!

Stretch

An important pillar for every dancer’s routine, Lisa’s Stretch Class is a must for deepening the mind+muscle connection. Done mindfully, intelligently and expertly, dancers are carefully guided through a series of safe stretches designed to release tension, reduce physical and mental stress, improve extensions, foster improved flexibility, and center the mind. Come stretch with us!

The Open Class (Ballet)
(Intermediate/
Advanced)

Open to all Intermediate/Advanced dancers, our Saturday class is open for dancers at levels 3 and up!
